Our History

The Association was created on the basis of Republic Act No. 7607 (Magna Carta of Small Farmers), According to Chapter 2, Section 5: “The State recognizes the right of farmers to organize themselves to promote their welfare and advance or safeguard their interests. Towards this end, the government shall assist small farmers in establishing such self, help organizations such as farmers’ cooperatives and associations.”

According to chapter 1, Section 2 of R.A. 7607: “It is the declared policy of the state to give the highest priority to the development of agriculture such that equitable distribution of benefits and opportunities is realized through the empowerment of all farmers. While state recognizes the fact that the welfare and development of the small farmers is their primordial responsibility, the state shall provide the necessary support mechanism towards the attainment of their socio-economic endeavor.”
